Beer!

Options, Options, Options!

So.... you can no longer have beer? Wrong! although beer is often made from wheat and barley there are so many options available for you. In fact the Gluten Free beer market is booming and whether you are looking for a Pilsner, Session Ale, IPA or Larger there are many options.

Gluten Reduced Beer:

Gluten reduced beer is brewed in the same way as regular beer but during the process enzymes are added to break down the Gluten proteins. There is still a trace amount of Gluten left in the beer but it is so slight it is considered suitable for Coeliacs. To be classified as Gluten Free the beer has to test below 20 parts per million (20ppm) and many test well below this level. It's worth being cautious and monitoring your reaction as some coeliacs can still react to Gluten reduced beer.

Gluten Free Beer:

Gluten free beer is brewed with ingredients that do not naturally contain any Gluten; for example grains such as sorghum, corn and rice. This makes them naturally Gluten free and suitable for all. If in doubt look for the coeliac uk cross grain symbol

Some of our favourites:

Fantasma by Magic Rock

Vagabond by BrewDog

Session Ale by Bellfield Brewery

Indian Pale Ale by Green's

Sup Session IPA by FirstChop

Daura by Damm

Cider, Wine & Spirits

Bottoms up!

Great news! Cider, Wine, Spirits and Liqueurs are Gluten Free. Although some of these alcohols use grains, the process of distilling removes all of the Gluten making them Gluten Free.
